Paul Blomkamp’s dedicated career spans over 40 years. The artist divided his attention between fine art and colossal stained glass windows for sacred architecture over an extensive period. It is a well-known fact that he (at the time) created the largest church window in the world. Blomkamp presented a number of solo exhibitions from 1977 onwards, as well as committed to large murals commissioned by corporate giants such as Telkom, at the same time he continued his monumental stained glass projects. In 1993 he embarked on a full-time career as a painter and abandoned the large-scale public commissions across Johannesburg and Pretoria to focus on his work as a fine artist.
