His work focuses on the connection or disconnection of present day Zimbabwe with the symbolism of traditional, ancestral mythology. His very specific visual language introduces a dialogue between the hardships of daily life in Zimbabwe and the quality of natural magic that permeates the personal life of its inhabitants.
‘Continuity of culture instills true meaning to life but ignorance is planted in the mind and hearts of the people by the often superficial pleasures of modern day which divorce us from the core root of what forms and shapes life, separate us from believes that enable us to see the light every day. Ignoring the ‘Creator of Nature’ himself, we abandon the importance of our culture and the trace of blood line, forgetting our ancestors who fight and protect us in spiritual wars and journeys of our everyday life, my generation is victimized.
It is this very culture that shapes my identity as an individual and forms the basis of my inspiration.’
